Sicily and the Mediterranean Diet are the main themes of the Mediterraria 2021 exhibition that is going to take place in Ciminiere Building in Catania.
Raw ingredients of the island and other Mediterranean countries are going to be the focuses: from ancient Sicilian grains and Tumminia flours to Bronte pistachio; fruit and vegetable, citrus fruits such as Tarocco orange, Passito and Pantelleria capers; wines of the Etna DOC Consortium and extra virgin olive oil with the DOP Monti Iblei brand, passing through dairy products, spices and preserves, but also for jams and chocolate, without forgetting the extraordinary typical products of the Madonie.
It will be a real full immersion in tradition and taste, involving tourists and visitors, professional chefs and in the food and wine area.
Outside the fair, "side events", cultural and entertainment activities will be organized for visitors of the Mediterranean Exhibition, so the guests could discover and experience the city and its streets traditionally rich in commercial activities, monuments and points of interest in an intense way.
Concerts of ethnic music from the Mediterranean will be organized, with some places in the entertainment area dedicated to the promotion of typical products and dishes.
Tours for bikers and trekkers will be presented, to discover the Sicilian territory, through food and wine tours dedicated to the different areas and different products (citrus fruits, cereals, wine, etc.).
The excursions will allow you to discover the territory and its crops, with stops for visits to the companies that deal with the production, marketing and transformation of food and wine excellences. This action will be supported by local restaurateurs and accommodation facilities with particular attention to agritourism companies.
