Description
Excursion to Etna Summit Craters let you see the Sicily from the highest European spot!
Mount Etna is the biggest active Vulcan in the whole Europe, it is really a must-see when you come visit Sicily!
The most adventurous way to explore it is surely reaching the Summit Craters, from where you can see breathtaking panoramas and connect your body to your soul and nature again.
The climb takes you through landscapes of extraordinary beauty, recent lava, long slopes of volcanic sand, lava arches and volcanic cones at the top of which open the lava ducts.
Meeting time is set at 9 o’clock at our office (piazzale rifugio sapienza – ETNA SUD - inside bar ristorante Terrazza dell'Etna).
Expected excursions timetable (subjected to indisputable guide’s assessment)
9:30-10:00. Departure
10:00-11:00. Cable car + 4x4 bus
11:00. Trekking toward the summit craters
12:30. Rim of the central crater
13:30. Downhill towards Torre del Filosofo
14:00. Picnic breaktime
14:45. Barbagallo Craters /Lava Channel
15:30. View over Valle del Bove
16:00-16:30: Cable car to Piazzale Rifugio Sapienza
The excursion includes:
-Excursion up to the summit craters of Etna leaded by UIAGM Volcano/Mountain Guide (ITA/EN/FR spoked languages);
-Cable car round trip + one way 4x4 Bus;
- Trekking outfit : mountain boots, fleece, light jacket, poles, helmet (mandatory).

Все было великолепно! Запах цветущих апельсиновых садов, вид на Этну, вид на море, мебель в идеальном состоянии, хотя явно антикварная. Полное соответствие фото. Вода, спагетти и сухарики как комплимент от компании suntripsicily. Дали купоны на бесплатный перекус на Этне (чай/кофе, безалкогольный напиток, пицца/бутерброд). Чайник, духовка - все было, кроме микроволновки. Кондиционер почему-то не работал на обогрев на второй день, но мы не стали выяснять. Нет микроволновки, но не критично.
Everything was great! The smell of blooming orange gardens, view of Etna, view of the sea, furniture in perfect condition, although clearly antique. Full matching photo. Water, spaghetti and crackers as a compliment from suntripsicily. Gave coupons for a free snack on Etna (tea / coffee, soft drink, pizza / sandwich). Kettle, oven - everything was except the microwave. The air conditioner for some reason did not work on heating on the second day, but we did not clarify. No microwave, but no critical

Deze mooie villa met 4 appartementen , ligt op een zeer fraaie locatie. Uitzicht op de vulkaan de Etna en aan de voorkant uitzicht op zee. Alles zeer goed verzorgd en netjes. Fraai zwembad en aangelegde palmen tuin. Bekende steden zoals Taormina, Catania liggen op korte afstand. Siracuse ligt op bijna 100 km maar is een zeer fraaie stad om te bezoeken. Wat je vooral niet moet missen is een bezoek aan de vulkaan de Etna. Een belevenis op zich en er zijn diverse tours waaruit je kunt kiezen.

Maison qui correspond parfaitement à la description et aux photos. Tres propre, la climatisation est la bienvenue ! Vue imprenable sur l’Etna. Accueil parfait !!

The villa was exactly as described - very spacious and great oudoors area - the views of both coast and Etna are stunning. Giovanni and Irene provided great communication, suggestions and service before and during the stay. We were 6 friends travelling together so needed to use all bedrooms and the upstairs lounge, which had been pre-prepared as a bedroom with sofa-bed. The only negatives in the villa are that the upstairs lounge doesn't have curtains across the door so can be difficult to sleep in, and the upstairs bathroom has very low ceilings making showering standing up impossible. If you only use the 5 bedrooms then the villa will be perfect for you - everywhere has great air-conditioning although the villa stays quite cool with the natural breeze. You will need to rely on a hire car - there is nothing within walking distance and we couldn't book taxis on several occasions when we tried. Overall a great stay and well located for Etna.
